Perth, March 6 (NationPress) - Australian debutant bowler Lucy Hamilton expressed her excitement after taking her inaugural Test wicket, dismissing India's vice-captain Smriti Mandhana during the first session of the one-off pink-ball Test at the WACA Ground on Friday.
Before the match commenced, Lucy was honored with her baggy green cap from Beth Mooney, and soon after, she made her mark in cricket by claiming a wicket in her third over, when a well-directed nip-backer disrupted Smriti’s defense and crashed into the stumps. This dismissal helped Australia to reduce India to 99/4 at tea.
“Playing at the WACA in my debut Test match is incredibly thrilling and a fantastic opportunity. To capture my first wicket, I was absolutely delighted, a hundred percent,” Lucy shared in an interview during the tea break.
