New Delhi, May 9 (NationPress) Liverpool's Alexis Mac Allister has been awarded the Premier League Player of the Month for April, marking his first win of this accolade. In tandem with the Argentinian's achievement, Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Vitor Pereira has also clinched the Manager of the Month award.

During April, Mac Allister scored twice and provided one assist in five matches, playing a pivotal role in leading his team to their second Premier League title.

This recognition is notable as it is the first instance since January 2020 that a player from Argentina has received the Player of the Month title, previously held by Sergio Aguero from Manchester City. Overall, Mac Allister is only the fourth Argentinian to achieve this honour.

Pereira garnered the Manager's accolade following a flawless month, guiding his team to victory in all five matches during April, solidifying their position in the Premier League for the upcoming season.

“It was a tremendously successful month for us. We were consistent and competitive, but this achievement belongs to many individuals behind the scenes. We accomplish nothing alone, and the credit goes to everyone involved, from the staff to the supporters and those working tirelessly in the background,” Pereira expressed on the Wolves' official website.

Pereira becomes the fifth Portuguese manager to win this award, joining the ranks of Jose Mourinho, Andre Villas-Boas, Nuno Espirito Santo, and Bruno Lage, three of whom have also managed Wolves.

This marks the fourth instance this season that a Portuguese manager has secured the monthly award, with Pereira following Nuno, who previously won it in October, December, and March while managing Nottingham Forest.

Wolves started and concluded April with clean sheets, triumphing over West Ham United 1-0 and Leicester City 3-0 respectively.

In between, they triumphed over Ipswich Town, Tottenham Hotspur, and Manchester United, making them the only team to finish April with a perfect winning record.
