Madrid, Nov 24 (NationPress) Real Madrid's position at the summit of La Liga was reduced to just one point following a dramatic 2-2 draw against Elche on Sunday.

All goals were scored in the second half, with Aleix Febas giving Elche the lead by slipping past Trent Alexander-Arnold just eight minutes into the second half, as reported by Xinhua.

Real Madrid equalized in the 78th minute through Dean Huijsen's header, but Elche regained the lead six minutes later when Alvaro Rodriguez skillfully cut inside to fire a low shot past goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

In a late twist, Jude Bellingham salvaged a point for Real Madrid with a close-range tap-in in the 87th minute, following excellent play from Kylian Mbappe and Huijsen. Elche claimed a foul against Vinicius Jr on goalkeeper Inaki Pena, but VAR upheld the no-call.

Elche finished the match with ten men after Victor Chust received a red card in the 96th minute.

Atletico Madrid secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Getafe, with defender Domingos Duarte inadvertently redirecting Giacomo Raspadori's cross into his own net.

Getafe's Mauro Arambarri struck the bar in injury time as Atletico managed to hold on for their fifth consecutive league win.

Real Betis revealed a large tifo in the stands before their 1-1 draw against Girona to announce that attacking midfielder Isco had signed a new contract. Despite the celebration, the match ended in disappointment for home fans, as Girona fought back for a point.
