New Delhi, April 22 (NationPress) India’s Mahaveer Raghunathan is poised to showcase the national flag in one of Europe’s elite racing competitions, partnering with AF Corse for the 2025 Italian Gran Turismo Championship. The driver hailing from Chennai will be competing in the Pro-Am category, piloting the Ferrari 296 GT3 (Car No. 51) alongside Italy’s Lorenzo Ferrari throughout all eight rounds of the season. In the four endurance segments, they will be joined by Riccardo Ponzio.

AF Corse, a renowned name in Ferrari’s GT racing history, is fielding a strong contingent for this season. The team will operate four Ferrari 296 GT3s in the Endurance Cup and one in the Sprint Cup. With the grid expanding from 30 to 36 cars this year — coupled with a surge of talent from both the GT World Challenge and the FIA World Endurance Championship — the competition is anticipated to be more challenging than ever.

Mahaveer, the sole Indian driver on the 2025 grid, is facing this challenge with enthusiasm and resolve. “I’m truly thrilled to be a part of AF Corse,” he expressed. “It’s a privilege to pilot the Ferrari 296 GT3 alongside such a skilled teammate. The Pro-Am class is fiercely competitive, but I’m prepared to give my all. This season is going to be intense, but I'm ready to strive for victories.”

“Indeed, this year the competition is tight with numerous seasoned and skilled drivers in the lineup; the championship will be as competitive as ever, but I’m adequately prepared and eager to contend for wins from the onset of the season.”

AF Corse will also enter two Am-class vehicles — the No. 50 driven by Simon Mann, Christoph Ulrich, and Edoardo Borelli, alongside No. 83 featuring Jason Ambrose, David McDonald, and Francesco Castellacci. The No. 62 car, also in the Pro-Am category, will showcase Ibrahim Badawy, Leonardo Colavita, and David Vidales at the helm.
