New Delhi, Oct 4 (NationPress) In a remarkable display of skill, Manish Sureshkumar from Tamil Nadu and Vaishnavi Adkar from Maharashtra emerged victorious in the 30th National Tennis Championship, capturing the men’s and women’s singles titles respectively at the DLTA Complex in New Delhi on Saturday.
In the gripping men’s singles final, Manish Sureshkumar defeated Keerthivassan Suresh with a score of 6-4, 6-2 in a match that lasted two hours, showcasing his remarkable consistency and composure under pressure.
Both competitors opened aggressively, exchanging early breaks of serve to reach a 1-1 tie. Manish then broke Keerthivassan's serve, taking a 2-1 lead and consolidating it to 3-1. Keerthivassan fought back valiantly, breaking back to lead 4-3. However, Manish elevated his performance, breaking his opponent's serve again to clinch the first set.
Momentum carried over into the second set where the Tamil Nadu player maintained his rhythm, engaging in lengthy rallies with precise groundstrokes and solid returns. He closed the set at 6-2, thus securing the men’s singles championship.
