Vadodara, Jan 11 (NationPress) Top seed and local favourite Manush Shah alongside Korea's Ryu Hanna celebrated impressive victories to clinch the men’s and women’s singles championships, respectively, at the WTT Feeder Series 2026, supported by the Sports Authority of Gujarat, at the SAMA Indoor Sports Complex on Sunday.
The inaugural edition of the WTT Feeder Series in Vadodara, backed by the Sports Authority of Gujarat, was orchestrated by the Table Tennis Association of Baroda and executed by UTT.
Manush faced initial challenges, dropping the first two games in the final against Payas Jain, but maintained his focus to rebound and secure victory, finishing the men’s singles match with scores of 7-11, 10-12, 11-6, 11-6, 11-8.
The women’s singles final was rather one-sided, with Ryu overpowering qualifier Anusha with a scoreline of 11-6, 11-6, 11-5.
The Korean athlete earned a double crown by partnering with Yoo Yerin to triumph over India’s top doubles duo Ayhika Mukherjee and Sutirtha Mukherjee, with a nail-biting score of 4-11, 11-9, 11-9, 4-11, 11-9.
Despite not winning in the men’s singles, Payas Jain will depart Vadodara with two trophies.
He initially teamed with Syndrela Das to conquer second seeds Harmeet Desai and Yashaswini Ghorpade in the mixed doubles final, finishing with scores of 6-11, 11-9, 11-3, 11-6.
Jain and Ankur Bhattacharjee also clinched victory in the men’s doubles final against Aakash Pal and Mudit Dani with scores of 12-10, 11-7, 7-11, 11-8.
