New Delhi, Oct 2 (NationPress) The much-anticipated arrival of Lionel Messi in India for the "GOAT Tour of India 2025" has been confirmed, with the exciting three-city journey commencing on December 13. The Argentine football legend reflected on his previous visit to this vibrant nation 14 years ago, expressing that he holds "good memories of a very special country".

This three-day tour, spanning from December 13 to 15, will see Messi making appearances in Kolkata, Mumbai, and New Delhi, with a fourth city to be revealed by the event manager.

This marks Messi's first trip back to India since 2011, when he played a FIFA friendly against Venezuela at Salt Lake Stadium.

"India is a very special country, and I have good memories from my time there 14 years ago," Messi shared. "The fans were fantastic. I look forward to meeting a new generation of supporters and sharing my love for this beautiful game."

Tour highlights will include stadium events at Salt Lake Stadium, Wankhede Stadium, and Arun Jaitley Stadium, along with special celebrations like a statue unveiling in Kolkata and the launch of a charitable initiative.

Moreover, Messi is set to engage with local sports and entertainment personalities, as well as dignitaries and state leaders from West Bengal, Maharashtra, and Delhi.

Before kicking off his three-city tour, Messi will lead Argentina’s World Cup-winning squad in a match in Kochi this November.

The November fixtures will be part of three matches scheduled during the FIFA international window, with the remaining two games taking place in Luanda, Angola.
