Messi is set to visit India from December 13 to 15. His itinerary includes a stop in the football-loving city of Kolkata on December 13, followed by a trip to Mumbai on December 14. The Argentine football legend will wrap up his journey in New Delhi on December 15, where a meeting with PM Modi is anticipated.
“Messi has sent a signed jersey for PM Modi's 75th birthday. We are making efforts to facilitate a meeting between them during his visit to India,” shared Satadru Dutta, a sports entrepreneur and the promoter of Messi's tour, in a Monday statement to IANS. “He has expressed his good wishes for the Indian fans and is excited about meeting them in New Delhi and Mumbai for the first time,” he added.
“He will arrive in India on December 13, starting in Kolkata, then moving to Mumbai on December 14 before heading to New Delhi on December 15. Events are scheduled at Salt Lake Stadium, Wankhede Stadium, and Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium,” Dutta continued.
As per the Argentine Football Association (AFA), the world champions are also expected to play a friendly match in Kerala in November. If everything aligns, Messi is expected to captain the team during this friendly, as confirmed by Kerala's Sports Minister, V. Abdurahiman.
The Kerala Football Association (KFA), in partnership with the All India Football Federation (AIFF), is finalizing logistics, including the venue selection.
If Messi participates in the Kerala match, it would mark his second visit to India within two months, creating unforgettable memories for his fans in the country.
