New Delhi, June 14 (NationPress) The esteemed Member of Parliament representing North-east Delhi and well-known actor-singer, Manoj Tiwari, is set to bring excitement to the 27th edition of the nationwide ‘FIT India Sundays on Cycle’ on June 15. This event is being held in collaboration with the Physical Education Foundation of India (PEFI) at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium.

Among the notable individuals joining the event in Delhi are PEFI president A.K. Bansal, a Dronacharya Awardee and former Indian hockey coach, Dr. Sunita Godara, the 1992 Asian Marathon champion, PEFI national secretary Dr. Piyush Jain, along with Tribhuvan Ram Narayan, professor and director (sports) at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, and swimming coach Manjeet Shekhawat from the Sonia Vihar Water Sports Club Society.

This cycling initiative will take place simultaneously at over 500 locations across India on June 15, including all State and Union Territory capitals, along with SAI Regional Centres, National Centres of Excellence (NCOEs), SAI Training Centres (STCs), Khelo India State Centres of Excellence (KISCEs), and Khelo India centres (KICs). It's expected to attract participation from more than 15,000 citizens spanning various age groups.

Launched by Hon’ble Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports Mansukh Mandaviya in December 2024, the ‘FIT India Sundays on Cycle’ movement has already been conducted in over 10,000 locations nationwide, engaging more than 350,000 participants.

Previous cycling events have seen involvement from Indian Army personnel, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Indian Railways, and renowned sports figures like Lovlina Borgohain, Sangram Singh, Nitu Ghanghas, and Simran Sharma, as well as celebrities such as Rahul Bose and Gul Panag.
