Chennai, Dec 26 (NationPress) Bengaluru star Hemanth Muddappa returns to the Madras International Circuit this weekend, infused with fresh determination for the crucial final two rounds of the MMSC FMSCI Indian National Motorcycle Drag Racing Championship 2025, where the championship race is delicately poised.
Competing for Mantra Racing, the 15-time National champion is set to take on four top-tier categories as he aims for another impressive season.
Known throughout the paddock as India’s “Drag King”, Muddappa currently leads two of the four classes he participates in and remains a strong contender in the other two, sustaining the possibility of adding multiple championships to his already unparalleled achievements.
With the support of his long-standing tuner and technical collaborator Sharan Pratap, Muddappa will race on his reliable superbikes, including the Gen3 Hayabusa, BMW S1000RR, and Ninja 6R, across the Unrestricted (Super Sport), 1051–1650cc, 851–1050cc, and 551–850cc Super Sport categories.
The initial two rounds held in September highlighted both his remarkable consistency and the escalating competition.
Muddappa kicked off the season with a powerful triple win in the 551–850cc, 851–1050cc, and 1051–1650cc classes. He returned on the last Sunday of September to clinch a double victory in the 851–1050cc and 1051–1650cc categories.
The Unrestricted class saw new champions emerge, with Mumbai’s Hanuman Pawshe and Bengaluru’s former National champion Alimon Saidalvi alternating at the forefront, while seasoned competitors like Hyderabad’s Mohammed Riyaz and Bengaluru’s Mujahid Pasha, along with a host of rising stars, kept the stakes high. Mantra Racing also took pride in the success of Mumbai’s young racer Shahrukh Khan, who dominated the Indian bike categories in Round 2.
As the championship approaches its final two rounds, Muddappa’s focus is now on precision and execution, where mere hundredths of a second could determine the outcome of the season. His ability to consistently deliver flawless launches under pressure has always been his defining asset, and he will once again depend on that signature rhythm as the championship returns to the MIC strip.
“Every championship hinges on consistency, teamwork, and remaining composed in critical moments,” Muddappa stated, anticipating the pivotal double-header. “The competition intensifies each year, but that only motivates us to strive harder. We are prepared for the challenge.”
With the Madras Motor Sports Club organizing the final showdown, the stage is perfectly set for a thrilling conclusion to the 2025 drag racing season. All eyes will be on Mantra Racing’s leading rider as he seeks to further his exceptional pursuit of National titles.
