Munich, April 4 (NationPress) The German forward Thomas Muller announced on Saturday that he will part ways with Bayern Munich at the conclusion of the current season.
Bavaria native Muller entered the FC Bayern academy at just 10 years old in the summer of 2000. Over the years, he has experienced remarkable growth, made history with the club, achieved all there is to win, and has become the club's record appearance holder, featuring in a total of 743 competitive matches.
The German record champions will celebrate Muller's illustrious career with, among other things, a dedicated testimonial. It has also been confirmed that the two-time treble winner and world champion will play his final matches for Bayern at the FIFA Club World Cup, scheduled to take place in the USA from June 15 to July 13, according to a statement from the club.
Muller made his professional debut for Bayern on August 15, 2008, in a 2-2 draw against Hamburger SV. Since then, he has collected 12 Bundesliga titles, won the DFB Cup six times, and secured the Champions League twice, among other prestigious honors.
In September, the forward surpassed the legendary Munich goalkeeper Sepp Maier to become the Reds' record appearance maker and currently has 743 competitive appearances, netting 247 goals and providing 273 assists.
