The eighth seed swiftly dispatched Elahi Galan with scores of 6-4, 6-0, 6-4, making a bold statement to his competitors at Roland Garros.
According to Infosys Stats, Musetti converted six out of twelve break points during the match, concluding his two-hour and six-minute victory while building upon his initial win of 7-5, 6-2, 6-0 against Yannick Hanfmann.
“To be honest, today was quite challenging due to the wind,” Musetti stated later, as reported by the ATP on its website. “I believe I managed to maintain my focus and deliver a solid performance, which is exactly what I needed. I had to elevate my game and I’m truly delighted to be in the third round.”
This victory marks Musetti's 3-0 lead in their ATP head-to-head encounters with Galan and enhances his record on clay to an impressive 23-5 since July of last year. His achievements within this timeframe include a bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics and reaching the semifinals in all three clay ATP Masters 1000 events of 2025, including a championship appearance in Monte-Carlo.

“I’m hopeful that this year will be different, and my mindset is to strive to defeat everyone… I have the opportunity to compete against all here, and I intend to seize these chances,” he added.
Musetti is set to face the winner of the matchup between Mariano Navone and Reilly Opelka in the next round. He is joined in the third round by the 2023 Next Gen ATP Finals champion, Hamad Medjedovic, who overcame qualifier Juan Manuel Cerundolo with scores of 6-3, 6-4, 7-5 to advance against Daniel Altmaier or Vit Kopriva.
