New Delhi, Dec 17 (NationPress) The duo from Rajasthan, Anantjeet Singh Naruka and Darshna Rathore, showcased an impressive performance, clinching the gold medal in the Senior Skeet Mixed Team category at the 68th National Shooting Championship, held at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range on Tuesday. They triumphed over the Uttar Pradesh team with a close score of 45–43 in an exhilarating gold medal match.
With Anantjeet being an Asian Champion, both shooters coordinated excellently, as Anantjeet hit 21 targets while Darshna secured 24, surpassing the Uttar Pradesh pair of Olympian Mairaj Ahmad Khan (21) and Areeba Khan (22). Earlier, Rajasthan topped the qualifications, achieving 143 hits, with Anantjeet scoring 73 and Darshna 70, which granted them a direct entry into the finals.
The Uttar Pradesh team managed to reach the finals after overcoming Haryana in a shootout during the qualification round. Mairaj (74) and Areeba (68) combined for a score of 142, tying with Haryana, ultimately winning 4–3 in the shootout.
The Haryana team, featuring Raiza Dhillon (72) and Ishaan Singh Libra (70), claimed the bronze medal, defeating Madhya Pradesh 41–39 in the third-place match. Madhya Pradesh, represented by Rituraj Bundela (20) and Mansi Raghuwanshi (19), finished fourth.
