Kathmandu, Dec 22 (NationPress) Nepal has unveiled a 24-player squad to evaluate its final roster for the forthcoming T20 World Cup.

This 24-player cohort will participate in a training camp ahead of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, aiming to finalize the squad to 15 players before the tournament kicks off on February 7 in India and Sri Lanka.

Nepal continues to rely on the 16 players who excelled during their 2-1 victory over the West Indies in the T20I series held in September and October. They have also included eight additional players into the mix, such as Sher Malla, Binod Bhandari, Abinash Bohara, and Bashir Ahmed—who showcased their talents during the recent Nepal Premier League, according to ICC reports.

Nepal secured its place in the 2026 T20 World Cup by remaining unbeaten in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Asia-Pacific Regional Final in Oman last October and will participate in the tournament for the second consecutive time and third overall.

In Group C of the T20 World Cup, Nepal will face formidable opponents including England, the West Indies, Bangladesh, and Italy.

The 20-team tournament will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka over a span of 29 days and will utilize eight venues (five in India and three in Sri Lanka).

A total of 40 group matches are scheduled from February 7-20, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the Super Eights phase beginning on February 21.

Ultimately, the top four teams from the Super Eights will earn spots in the knockout stages, culminating in the semi-finals held in Kolkata/Colombo and Mumbai, leading to the championship match on March 8 in Ahmedabad/Colombo.
