Mumbai, Jan 12 (NationPress) Saanvi Somu leads an impressive roster of new professionals for the 2026 season, as 10 new pros enter the field this year, having qualified through the event at Jaypee Wishtown. This inaugural leg of the tour, which has been running for nearly 15 years, boasts a prize pool of Rs 17 lakh and will be headlined by Sneha Singh, a past winner of the Hero Order of Merit.
From a total annual prize fund of Rs 2.5 crore, Rs 1.47 crore has already been awarded between April 2025 and December 2025. The remaining Rs 1.03 crore will be distributed over the next six events leading up to March 2026, with the first event set to take place at BPGC starting January 13.
The initial six tournaments will be staged from January to March, with the remaining nine events for 2026 scheduled afterwards.
Sneha Singh, one of three players with multiple wins in 2025, will compete for the title against Amandeep Drall, Ridhima Dilawari, Jasmine Shekar, Rhea Purvi Saravanan, and Vidhatri Urs, among others.
Among the promising new professionals is Saanvi Somu, who has been a runner-up four times and is still in pursuit of her first victory on the Women’s Pro Golf Tour. This talented young golfer has represented India on numerous occasions and could very well be the standout player to follow this season.
In addition to Sneha and Amandeep, other 2025 winners participating include Jasmine Shekar, Ridhima Dilawari, Lavanya Jadon, Rhea Purvi Saravanan, and Heena Kang.
Even with some top Indian players opting out of the opening week, the lineup remains robust. Five of the top six from the 2025 Merit List will compete in the season's first event at the Bombay Presidency Golf Club. The 2025 season was notably successful, with nine players earning over Rs 10 lakh in prize money. Moreover, many of them also took part in the IGPL Tour, partnered with the Women’s Golf Association of India.
Additionally, four amateurs are set to compete, including Zara Anand, who will transition to college golf in the United States later this year. Kashika Mishra, Aradhana Manikandan, and Thea Ajoomal comprise the other amateurs in the lineup.
