Synopsis
Key Takeaways
New Delhi, March 15 (NationPress) The North Zone has taken significant strides towards clinching the JK Bose Inter-Zonal T20 Cricket Trophy title, thanks to Rishabh Singh's stunning unbeaten century that led them to a decisive 10-wicket triumph over the South Zone on the tournament's second day at the Roshanara Cricket Ground in New Delhi.
Rishabh's remarkable 100 not out off just 54 balls was pivotal in North Zone's successful chase, as they chased down South Zone's formidable total of 187/4 in just 18.2 overs. The team's captain, Akash Rawal, added a valuable 38 runs before retiring injured, while Amit contributed an unbeaten 33, allowing North Zone to secure the win comfortably.
Previously, South Zone had set a challenging target, bolstered by Shiva Krishna's impressive 89 and VL Sashank's 50. However, their efforts fell short against a North Zone side displaying exceptional form. A victory against East Zone on Monday will assure North Zone the trophy.
The tournament is part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations for the Sports Journalists Federation of India (SJFI) National Convention held in New Delhi.
