Mumbai, April 1 (NationPress) Palaash Mapara (5 points) has maintained his impressive streak, achieving his fifth consecutive win to stand as the sole frontrunner after Round 5 of the All India Chess Masters (Season 3), ongoing at the Mumbai Chess Centre, on Wednesday.

In a match where he played with the black pieces at the top board, Palaash exhibited exceptional tactical insight, decisively overcoming Punit Dodiya (4 points).

A formidable group of five players—Shriram Mhasane, Pratik Yadnik, Yashraj Rathi, AGM Rajveer Nahar, and Shreyansh Somaiya—are right behind him in a tie for second place, each with 4.5 points.

On the second board, Yashraj Rathi and Pratik Yadnik concluded their match in a draw, thus sharing the point.

In the meantime, Shreyansh Somaiya and AGM Rajveer Nahar showcased their skills with convincing victories while playing as black. Shreyansh triumphed over Ahaan Kataruka (3.5 points) on the third board, while Rajveer outperformed Shrirang Agharkar (3.5 points).
