Is Rishabh Pant Ready to Return to the Field Soon?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
New Delhi, Feb 4 (NationPress) Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant shared that his recovery from a side strain is advancing positively at the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru, and he anticipates making his comeback to competitive cricket shortly.
Pant has been out of action after experiencing a side strain on his right side during a training session just before the ODI series against New Zealand in Vadodara, when a ball from a throwdown specialist struck him above the waist.
“My fitness is improving every day. I am diligently working at the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, and I genuinely feel I will be back on the field soon,” Pant stated while attending the World Pickleball League as the co-owner of the Mumbai Pickle Power team.
He highlighted the importance of staying connected to the sport during lengthy recovery phases and credited his passion for cricket and his support system for helping him navigate the rehabilitation process.
“During my injury, my love for the game and the support from those around me is what keeps me close to cricket. As a player, it’s crucial to continuously enhance your skills. I aim to improve in every aspect of my gameplay,” he mentioned.
Pant also reflected on how his multiple comebacks from injuries have influenced his views on cricket and life, acknowledging that being away from high-level competition is the most challenging part of being sidelined.
“Every comeback has imparted valuable lessons about life, instilling a sense of gratitude and a deeper appreciation for commitment to things that bring happiness,” he added.
“What I miss the most during my injury is the sheer joy of playing the game. The love for cricket is immense, but playing at the highest level brings a unique happiness that I truly miss,” he concluded.
