Physically Disabled Challengers Trophy: India A to Compete Against India Seniors in the Final

Jaipur, Dec 2 (NationPress) The knockout matches featuring India A versus India C and India B against India Seniors have resulted in India A and India Seniors advancing to the ultimate showdown of the Physically Disabled Challengers Trophy 2024.
This prestigious tournament is being held at Jaipuria Cricket Academy in Jaipur, in partnership with the Rajasthan Disabled Cricket Association (RDCA), alongside the Petroleum Sports Promotion Board and the State Bank of India. The final match is scheduled for 10 am on Tuesday, coinciding with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
The first knockout game on the third day of the Physically Disabled Challengers Trophy 2024 featured India A facing India C. Batting first, India A amassed a formidable total of 173/7. Despite losing their initial three wickets at a mere score of 20/3, team captain Ravindra Sante scored 56 runs off 36 balls and Deepesh Bharti forged a vital partnership of 46 runs in 27 balls, placing the team in a commanding position.
In contrast, India C stumbled early in their chase, losing their first wicket in the second over. Player Jaswant Singh managed to score an unbeaten 29 runs off 34 balls. Ultimately, India A triumphed in the match by 46 runs, with captain Ravindra Sante earning the Player of the Match accolade.
The second match featured India B against India Seniors. After winning the toss, India B opted to bat first. However, on the very first ball, captain Kunal Phanase was dismissed for a duck. Waqar Yonus showcased impressive batting for India B, scoring 43 runs in 24 balls, but the team could only manage 144/4 runs in their 20 overs.
While pursuing the target, both openers from India Seniors, Surendra Kumar and Prasad Chavan, delivered an outstanding performance, providing a robust start. Surendra Kumar contributed 34 runs in 25 balls, while Prasad Chavan added 49 runs off 44 balls. India Seniors won the match by seven wickets, securing their place in the final, with Prasad Chavan being named Player of the Match.
