Chennai, Oct 9 (NationPress) The Gujarat Giants achieved consecutive victories, successfully completing a double against the UP Yoddhas with a thrilling 41-39 triumph at the SDAT Multi Purpose Indoor Stadium on Thursday night.

Leading the charge was Rakesh Sungroya, who delivered a career-best performance, racking up 20 raid points, complemented by Lucky Sharma’s four tackles. Meanwhile, Guman Singh’s Super 10 performance went in vain for the Yoddhas.

This outcome further solidified the top position for Dabang Delhi K.C., who secured their spot in the top eight, despite suffering a loss to the Bengal Warriorz earlier that evening.

Both teams started strong, with their captains leading the scoring. Rakesh Sungroya inflicted significant damage early on for the Gujarat Giants, while Sumit Sangwan set the tone for his team with a couple of crucial tackles. Guman Singh marked his appearance by reaching 600 raid points in the league as both teams exchanged blows in the opening phase.

Harish Kamatchi was instrumental for the Gujarat Giants, supporting Rakesh. For the UP Yoddhas, Guman Singh kept the scoreboard moving as both teams fought fiercely. At the end of a competitive first quarter, Guman Singh’s side held a one-point lead thanks to a tackle by Mahender Singh.

Rakesh maintained his momentum for the Giants, completing his Super 10 with a multi-point raid during a Do-Or-Die situation. He scored 10 out of 15 points for the Gujarat Giants and executed the first ALL OUT of the match, putting his team ahead 20-16. By halftime, they led by three points with a score of 22-19.

Lucky Sharma initiated the second half with the first tackle, but Hitesh quickly responded for the Yoddhas. Rakesh continued his impressive performance with another two-point raid, extending the Giants’ lead. This dominance culminated in a second ALL OUT against their opponents, establishing a ten-point lead.

Mohammadreza Shadloui contributed with a couple of tackles to maintain the lead as the pace slowed down. However, Guman Singh and Bhavani Rajput ignited a comeback for the Yoddhas, with the former achieving his Super 10. A tackle by Hitesh enabled them to complete an ALL OUT, narrowing the deficit to three points.

Guman Singh followed up with another tackle, and a successful Do-Or-Die Raid by Bhavani Rajput leveled the score at 36-36. Himanshu Singh executed a crucial raid, while Lucky Sharma secured his fourth tackle of the night, giving the Gujarat Giants a two-point advantage.

However, the UP Yoddhas responded with a tackle by Mahender Singh and a raid from Guman Singh, leveling the score again at 38-38 with a minute remaining. In a pivotal moment, Mohammadreza Shadloui executed a clutch raid to give the Giants a 40-39 lead. Ultimately, Ankit Dahiya sealed the victory with a tackle on Guman, clinching a 41-39 win for the Gujarat Giants and keeping their playoff hopes alive.
