Dabang Delhi K.C. clinched the title after a thrilling 31-28 victory against Puneri Paltan at the Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium on Friday. This victory marks their second PKL title, having previously secured the championship in Season 8, when the current head coach Joginder Narwal served as the captain.
Notably, Dabang Delhi also became the first home team to win the trophy since U Mumba in Season 2.
“This trophy symbolizes the collective effort of our entire squad. Our Coach Joginder Narwal realized his dream of becoming a championship-winning coach, and I achieved my goal of leading a team to PKL glory. More importantly, this victory is dedicated to Surjeet bhai, who has been a guiding figure for all of us. After ten long seasons of hard work, this moment finally fulfills his lifelong aspiration of becoming a PKL champion,” Anshu stated on JioStar’s ‘KBD Live’.
In addition, Fazel Atrachali has become the most successful foreign player in PKL history. Reflecting on the victory, the Iranian expressed, “I am incredibly happy because nobody believed in our team at the start of this season. Many considered Dabang Delhi an ordinary team, yet we showcased our unity and championship spirit. This second title is a remarkable achievement, and now is the perfect time for us to celebrate together.”
Veteran defender Surjeet Singh shared insights on the team’s mentality heading into the final. “After our last practice session, coach Joginder Narwal emphasized that we were playing this final to win the trophy for me, and I had to lift it at all costs. Against Puneri Paltan, we executed that vision flawlessly, and my teammates and coach made it possible. I thank the entire team, management, and God for this opportunity to finally capture the PKL Trophy after ten long seasons in the league,” he noted.
