PL: Tottenham Hotspur Frustrated by 1-1 Draw Against 10-Man Fulham

London, Dec 1 (NationPress) Tottenham Hotspur experienced a frustrating 1-1 draw against Fulham at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday. After gaining an early second-half advantage thanks to Brennan Johnson's 10th goal of the season, the visitors equalized with a strike from Tom Cairney, who was later shown a red card late in the match for a foul on Dejan Kulusevski.
The match began with a flurry of activity as Spurs created an opportunity within the first minute. Timo Werner intercepted a misplaced pass from Fulham’s Calvin Bassey and set up Heung-Min Son, but goalkeeper Bernd Leno was quick off his line to deny the shot. Fulham had their chances as well, with Raul Jimenez heading over the bar and Alex Iwobi forcing Fraser Forster into a brilliant save following a well-timed through ball.
Both goalkeepers showcased their skills, with Forster making several crucial saves, including a one-handed stop from Jimenez’s volley and tipping Iwobi’s deflected shot onto the crossbar. Leno also excelled, tipping a powerful header from Radu Dragusin over the bar and thwarting James Maddison’s clever free-kick that just grazed the outside of the post.
The breakthrough came in the 54th minute when Werner's cross from the left found Johnson at the far post, and the winger volleyed home from close range to put Spurs ahead. However, Fulham quickly countered, with Cairney, who had come on as a substitute, firing a left-footed shot into the far corner just 13 minutes later to equalize.
The match took another twist when Cairney received a straight red card for a late challenge on Kulusevski. Despite having the numerical advantage, Tottenham struggled to penetrate Fulham's resolute defense, and the match concluded in a draw. This result signifies that Spurs have now drawn two of their last three league matches, and they will aim to secure a victory in their upcoming game.
