Ahmedabad, June 5 (NationPress) PBG Pune Jaguars showcased a remarkable, all-around display to overcome Kolkata ThunderBlades with a score of 10-5. In a thrilling rematch of the 2024 final, Dabang Delhi TTC managed to outlast the reigning champions Dempo Goa Challengers with a close 9-6 victory on Thursday during crucial matchups in Season 6 of Ultimate Table Tennis (UTT).

In an electrifying encounter featuring international stars and UTT veterans, Alvaro Robles narrowly defeated Quadri Aruna, providing PBG Pune Jaguars with an excellent start as he clinched all three games on Golden Points, marking his first singles victory of the season.

This feat is notable as it has now occurred twice in a single IndianOil UTT season. Dina Meshref displayed poise, achieving a tight 2-1 win over Adriana Diaz for her first league victory, before teaming up with Anirban Ghosh to secure a mixed doubles win of 2-1, giving Pune early dominance in the match.

Kolkata ThunderBlades retaliated with young sensation Ankur Bhattacharjee, who impressed the crowd by defeating Anirban. However, Anirban managed to clinch the final game, preventing Ankur from a complete sweep and keeping Pune ahead. Reeth Rishya then extinguished any chances of a comeback by easily defeating Selena Selvakumar 3-0, thus sealing the match.

Meshref received the Foreign Player of the Tie award, while Diaz was acknowledged with the Shot of the Tie. Reeth earned the title of Indian Player of the Tie.

In the first match of the day, Harmeet Desai triumphed over Sathiyan Gnanasekaran in a thrilling three-game battle featuring two of India's best players. However, this was not enough as Dabang Delhi TTC secured their second win of the season, defeating the defending champions Dempo Goa Challengers once again.

Izaac Quek initiated the match with a decisive 3-0 win against Tiago Apolonia for Delhi, while Zeng Jian countered for Goa with a sweeping victory over Diya Chitale. Delhi regained their lead through Sathiyan and Maria Xiao's composed doubles win, but Harmeet's victory over Sathiyan leveled the score once more.

In the final matchup, Xiao stepped up, dominating Sayali Wani 3-0 to secure the tie. Harmeet was awarded Indian Player and Shot of the Tie, while Xiao was recognized as Foreign Player of the Tie.

Earlier at the UTT Juniors, U Mumba TT achieved a 7-2 victory over Ahmedabad SG Pipers, with Prateek Tulsani and Ananya Muralidharan shining in both singles and doubles.

In a closely contested match, Jaipur Patriots edged out Stanley's Chennai Lions 5-4, thanks to a strong start by Trishal Surapureddy and a pivotal doubles point with Shreya Dhar.

Under the auspices of the Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI) and promoted by Niraj Bajaj and Vita Dani, UTT continues to enhance its reputation as a premier professional league.
