New Delhi, Jan 2 (NationPress) The Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium located in Pune is poised to host several home matches for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) during the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL), according to sources familiar with the developments, as reported by IANS on Friday.
In a previous report from November, IANS mentioned that both RR and the reigning champions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), were contenders for the Gahunje venue as their home ground ahead of IPL 2026. The Rajasthan Royals had even conducted a thorough inspection of the stadium along with an initial evaluation of the nearby amenities.
Sources indicate that it is more probable for RR to secure Pune as their home ground, effectively replacing Jaipur, which has been their base since the inception of IPL in 2008.
