Mohali, Sep 1 (NationPress) The Roundglass Hockey Academy and the Sports Authority of India National Centre of Excellence (SAI NCOE), Sonipat, achieved their second consecutive victories, while the Namdhari Hockey Academy and the Naval Tata Hockey Academy, Jamshedpur, celebrated their inaugural wins on Day 2 of the second season of the Punjab Hockey League (U-21) taking place at the Olympian Balbir Singh Senior International Hockey Stadium.
In the opening match of the day, SAI NCOE dominated the SDAT Hockey Academy, Tamil Nadu, with a resounding score of 5-0. Goals were scored by Happy Singh, Harpal Singh, Ashvani Singh, Ankush, and Pankaj Sharma, showcasing a powerful performance.
Meanwhile, Namdhari Hockey Academy triumphed over Ghumanhera Risers Hockey Academy, New Delhi, with a score of 4-2. Gurman Singh opened the scoring for Namdhari in the third minute, but Prikshit equalized for Ghumanhera in the last minute of the first quarter. Goals from Gurpreet Singh and Yuvraj Singh in the second quarter put Namdhari ahead again, while Jatin narrowed the gap in the third quarter, but a second goal from Gurpreet Singh sealed the win for Namdhari.
In the third match, Naval Tata Hockey Academy, Jamshedpur, claimed their first victory by defeating PIS Surjit Hockey Academy, Jalandhar, with a score of 3-1. After a scoreless first quarter, Patras Hassa and Sabian Kiro scored in the second quarter, giving Jamshedpur a two-goal advantage.
