He emphasized the group's confidence and a locker room mentality that prioritizes internal standards over outside expectations.

Once again, PBKS demonstrated their prowess in 200-plus run chases in the IPL, achieving this milestone for the ninth time with stellar performances from Priyansh Arya and Shreyas Iyer against the Chennai Super Kings bowling lineup. Arya initiated the assault with an electrifying 33 runs off just 9 balls, while Iyer steadied the innings, reaching a fifty off 26 balls.

“Naturally, there’s some anxiety before taking the field. However, our start today was remarkable. Priyansh and Prabh set the pace, allowing us to build momentum. Their batting consistency over the years helps establish our rhythm. I’m pleased everyone is getting opportunities in the first two matches, boosting our confidence. In pressure situations, players know how to respond. It’s not meticulously planned; we just decided in the dressing room to impress one another rather than outsiders. This clarity has been beneficial,” said Iyer post-match.

Priyansh Arya sparked the chase with an outstanding opening, paving the way for Punjab Kings' quest for 210 runs against Chennai Super Kings. Coming in as a substitute, Arya made an immediate impact by aggressively targeting Khaleel Ahmed. His entry was marked by a crisp straight drive for four, followed by a powerful six over midwicket. Although Khaleel managed to extract some movement against Prabhsimran Singh, he still conceded 14 runs in the initial over.

The second over saw no respite as Arya went after Matt Henry, scoring 4, 6, and 4 to reach 25 runs off just six balls. By the time PBKS reached their fifty in an astonishing 3.2 overs, Arya had amassed 27 runs off eight balls, consistently finding the boundary. This bold, modern T20 strategy of attacking right from the outset aimed to take command of the chase with a target set over 200.
