Chennai, April 5 (NationPress) In the absence of Faf du Plessis, KL Rahul stepped up to open the batting and delivered a remarkable performance, scoring 77 runs that helped Delhi Capitals reach a solid total of 183/6 against the five-time champions Chennai Super Kings during match 17 of IPL 2025 at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium on Saturday.

Despite the pitch not being particularly favorable for batting, Rahul showcased his skills with a commendable 77 off 51 balls, featuring six fours and three sixes. He capitalized on the bowlers' errors, striking boundaries, notably hitting three against CSK's leading wicket-taker, Noor Ahmad.

Rahul received valuable support from key contributions by Abishek Porel, Axar Patel, Sameer Rizvi, and Tristan Stubbs, although they couldn't convert their starts into significant scores after choosing to bat first.
