New Delhi, Jan 27 (NationPress) Former India all-rounder Suresh Raina endorsed the selection of left-handed opener Yashasvi Jaiswal in the squad led by Rohit Sharma for the imminent ICC Champions Trophy.
Raina praised captain Rohit for including Jaiswal in the lineup even though he has yet to compete in an ODI. The 23-year-old has demonstrated remarkable performance in both Tests and T20Is for India last year and has also been recognized in the ICC Men's Test Team of the Year.
“I believe that this young man is exceptionally eager for runs. His journey to this point reflects his dedication and hard work. Kudos to the selectors, particularly Rohit Sharma, for taking him to the Champions Trophy without any ODI experience. Kohli is set to play for Delhi in the upcoming Ranji Trophy match against the Railways at Arun Jaitley Stadium starting January 30. This will mark his first appearance in the tournament since 2012.
