Bengaluru, May 17 (NationPress) - Andy Flower, the head coach of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), expressed that the team has been revitalized and is eager to achieve a robust finish in the IPL 2025 league stage, which resumes on Saturday with their matchup against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
RCB is on the brink of qualifying for the IPL 2025 playoffs, having won eight out of eleven matches. The team, led by Rajat Patidar, requires just one more victory to secure their place in the top four.
“We convened at our headquarters in Bangalore on Friday afternoon, and my impression is that the group is revitalized and highly driven to finish the league stages strongly. The break, while we had significant momentum, has not been detrimental to us,” stated Flower.
“It has allowed Rajat some time to heal from his hand injury and given Salt the chance to recover from his illness; he appeared sharp in practice. We certainly respect KKR as opponents; they had an outstanding season last year, with some very formidable players. Therefore, we must perform exceptionally well to overcome them, and that is our objective,” Flower added in a video shared by the franchise on their social media platforms.
For RCB to secure a top-two finish, winning their remaining league matches is crucial. Although their position also hinges on the outcomes of other teams, Mo Bobat, RCB’s director of cricket, affirmed that the focus remains on achieving this goal.
“After a break like this, the essential part is to regain our momentum and routines. We were in a great position prior to the break, so our priority is to recapture that. We aren’t looking too far ahead; our focus is on the upcoming match against KKR and performing well,” he said.
“The atmosphere is positive, and the group has a great attitude. Everyone is concentrated on their responsibilities. They want to wrap up this season and campaign successfully. A top-two finish is the aim, and the players are highly focused on that,” he concluded.
