Rohan Jaitley Secures Re-election as DDCA President, Defeats Kirti Azad

New Delhi, Dec 17 (NationPress) Rohan Jaitley, the current president of the Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA), has successfully secured a second consecutive term on Tuesday by defeating Kirti Azad, a former Indian cricketer and the sitting Trinamool Congress MP for the Bardhaman-Durgapur constituency. Jaitley amassed 1577 votes, whereas Azad received 777 votes.

The members of the Jaitley-CK Khanna faction won all other positions as well. In the vice president race, Shikha Kumar triumphed with 1246 votes against Rakesh Kumar Bansal (536) and Sudhir Kumar Agarwal (498).

Initially, the contest for the secretary position was closely contested between Ashok Sharma of the Jaitley camp and Vinod Tihara. However, as the day unfolded, Sharma took the lead and ultimately won with 893 votes, while Tihara garnered 744 votes.

Harish Singla claimed the treasurer's position with 1328 votes, and Amit Grover was elected as joint secretary with 1189 votes.

For the directors' roles, the elected candidates were Anand Verma (985), Manjit Singh (1050), Navdeep M (1034), Shyam Sharma (1165), Tushar Saigal (926), Vikas Katyal (1054), and Vikram Kohli (939).

Previously, Rohan Jaitley was elected unopposed in October 2020 as president after Sunil Kumar Goel, the only other candidate to file his nomination, withdrew.
