New Delhi, Sep 27 (NationPress) The former Indian off-spinner and national selector Sarandeep Singh has been confirmed as the head coach of Delhi’s senior men’s cricket team for the forthcoming domestic season.

Sarandeep, who represented India in three Tests and five ODIs between 2000 and 2003, was appointed to this position by the three-member Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) of the DDCA and has now been retained. He will be supported by Kuldeep Rawat, V. Aravind, and Kshitiz Sharma, who is replacing Bantu Singh.

K.P. Bhaskar continues as a member of the three-person senior men’s selection panel along with Yashpal Sharma and Manu Nayar. The Delhi senior men’s team did not qualify for the knockout stages of the Ranji Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy, although they reached the quarterfinals of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Additionally, Reema Malhotra, a former Indian women's cricketer and mentor of the state women’s team, has taken on the role of chairperson of the selection committee. Her appointment indicates that her predecessor, former Indian all-rounder Amita Sharma, might transition to the national women’s selection committee.

Deepti Dhyani, who coaches Indian women’s opener Pratika Rawal, will lead the Delhi senior women’s team, supported by Gautam Vadhera (batting), Ashish Malhotra (bowling), and Mandeep Kaur (fielding).

Devender Sharma, the childhood coach of Rishabh Pant and Mayank Yadav at the renowned Sonnet Club, remains on the junior women’s selection committee with chairperson Tilak Raj Sharma and Sushma Chaudhary. Last season, the Delhi women’s team made it to the knockout rounds in three competitions and secured the U23 T20 Trophy.

Furthermore, Bantu and Gursharan Singh have been designated as chief batting coaches for the women’s and men’s teams, respectively, within the High Performance Group. They will receive assistance from Kailash Rawat and Sumit Dogra. Notably, the mentors introduced for the Delhi state cricket teams last year are not mentioned for the 2025/26 season.
