New Delhi, July 5 (NationPress) India fast bowler Mohammed Shami's estranged spouse, Hasin Jahan, has leveled serious allegations against him, claiming he is involved in defaming her and employing criminals to undermine her during their prolonged legal dispute. In a recent Instagram post, Jahan described Shami as characterless, greedy, and mean-minded.
These remarks followed a ruling from the Calcutta High Court which mandated Shami to disburse Rs 4 lakh monthly to Jahan and their daughter Aaira as part of their divorce proceedings. The couple's marriage, which lasted four years, dissolved in 2018 after Jahan accused Shami of domestic violence.
“Until my final breath, we will maintain a strong bond, Inshallah. It is up to you to decide what form that bond will take. We've been engaged in legal battles for seven years. What have you achieved from this? Your characterless and greedy nature has led to the destruction of your own family,” Jahan expressed on Instagram.
“You exploited a male-dominated society and lived contentedly while antisocial elements disparaged me. Now, I will seek justice through the law, claim all our rights, and live happily, Inshallah. Now ponder: which support is more powerful — social or legal? The day your misfortunes begin, those same people will make your existence miserable, Inshallah. Trust in that,” she continued.
Contrarily, Shami has chosen to remain silent and has not addressed the situation on social media.
The pacer was recently seen playing in the Indian Premier League for Sunrisers Hyderabad, where he took nine wickets in six matches. He was not included in India's Test tour of England due to fitness issues. Shami, who shone in the 2023 ODI World Cup as the leading wicket-taker, faced an injury that required surgery, sidelining him for over a year.
