Jakarta, January 21 (NationPress) The former world champion PV Sindhu encountered a challenging first-round encounter but ultimately clinched a straight-games win against Japan's Manami Suizu in the opening round of the Indonesia Masters held here on Wednesday.
Sindhu's match began unexpectedly, as she found herself trailing 2-11 at the mid-game interval. Despite having to fend off four game points, she pulled through to win the first game 22-20, scoring six points consecutively. In the second game, she maintained a lead but struggled to create a significant gap over Suizu, eventually winning 21-18.
