Kuala Lumpur, May 21 (NationPress) H S Prannoy and Kidambi Srikanth made their way to the second round of the men’s singles at the Malaysia Masters badminton tournament on Wednesday. In contrast, double Olympic medallist P. V. Sindhu faced an early exit in the first round.
Prannoy triumphed over Japan's fifth seed, Kenta Nishimoto, in a thrilling 82-minute match, securing a score of 19-21, 21-17, 21-16. Meanwhile, Srikanth delivered an impressive performance against China's sixth seed Lu Guang Zu, winning with a scoreline of 23-21, 13-21, 21-11.
Srikanth had previously qualified for the main draw by defeating Taiwanese players Kuo Kuan-lin and Huang Yu Kai in the qualifiers.
