Main draw action kicks off on Wednesday at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden, with the initial rounds taking place over the first two days of the competition. The top 32 seeds have been granted first-round byes.

Swiatek, positioned at the top of the fourth quarter of the draw, has secured a first-round bye and could potentially face the French player Garcia, who is set to compete against Bernarda Pera. Tunisian sensation Ons Jabeur might be awaiting in the third round.

The Olympic champion Zheng Qinwen, who will rejoin her coach Pere Riba, could encounter two-time champion Victoria Azarenka in round two.

Top seed Sabalenka heads the first quarter and will begin her campaign against either McCartney Kessler, who was a finalist in Austin, or Anna Blinkova.

Coco Gauff, Madison Keys, Emma Navarro, and Anisimova are all placed in the second quarter of the draw. This will mark Keys' first tournament since her triumph at the Australian Open in January.

Gauff is set to face either 2021 US Open champion Emma Raducanu or Moyuka Uchijima in the second round. Anisimova could encounter a particularly challenging first match if Bencic, the Abu Dhabi champion, advances past Tatjana Maria in the opening round.

Jessica Pegula leads the third quarter alongside the 2023 champion Rybakina and Dubai champion Andreeva.

This quarter also includes 2018 champion and former world No. 1 Osaka, who is returning to competition since her withdrawal in the third round of the Australian Open due to an abdominal injury sustained against Bencic.

Osaka is matched up against Camila Osorio from Colombia. The victor of this contest will take on Clara Tauson, who was a finalist in Dubai.
