Who are the Exciting Players in the T20 Mumbai League Auction?

Mumbai, May 6 (NationPress) As the T20 Mumbai League - renowned as one of India’s premier franchise-based domestic T20 tournaments - approaches its thrilling Season 3 auction, approximately 280 players are poised to go under the hammer in Mumbai on Wednesday. The league, showcasing eight teams, will take place at the Wankhede Stadium from May 26 to June 8.

Prominent among the exciting prospects are the rising talents such as the 17-year-old Ayush Mhatre, who has been impressing cricket enthusiasts with outstanding performances in the ongoing IPL 2025, alongside Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Tanush Kotian, and Musheer Khan. This player pool presents a fascinating mix of both emerging and experienced athletes.

The roster also features consistent domestic performers like Siddhesh Lad and Shams Mulani. Expect fierce competition and strategic bidding during the auction, as teams strive to create their optimal combinations.

“This dynamic player pool showcases the depth and quality of talent available in Mumbai cricket. It offers a superb mix of emerging stars and established names, providing franchises with excellent options to construct competitive squads. The T20 Mumbai League is set to establish a new standard in domestic T20 cricket,” remarked Abhay Hadap, Secretary of the Mumbai Cricket Association.

Teams have already secured iconic players for their rosters, including Suryakumar Yadav (Triumph Knights Mumbai North East), Ajinkya Rahane (Bandra Blasters), Shreyas Iyer (SoBo Mumbai Falcons), Prithvi Shaw (North Mumbai Panthers), Shivam Dube (ARCS Andheri), Shardul Thakur (Eagle Thane Strikers), Sarfaraz Khan (Aakash Tigers Mumbai Western Suburbs), and Tushar Deshpande (Mumbai South Central Maratha Royals).

The player pool is strategically categorized into three groups: Senior Players (those engaged in First-Class, List A, or T20 matches), Emerging Players (cricketers who have represented Mumbai at the U-23 or U-19 levels in the past three years), and Development Players (talented local and club-level players).

Base prices are set at Rs 5 lakh for Senior Players, Rs 3 lakh for Emerging Players, and Rs 2 lakh for Development Players. Teams must include four Senior Players, at least five Emerging Players, and five Development Players in their final squad of at least 18 members. Icon players are signed at a fixed price of Rs 20 lakh.

Each team must allocate a minimum of Rs 80 lakh from their total purse of Rs 1 crore for the season.

Moreover, teams are required to purchase at least two players born on or after September 1, 2005 and ensure that one of these players is included in their playing XI.
