Thailand's Tanapat Pichaikool clinched the USD 160,000 AM Green IGPL Morocco Rising Stars 2026 at Mazagan Beach & Golf Resort in El Jadida, Morocco on 1 June 2026, holding off Bangladesh veteran Siddikur Rahman by two shots to claim his first title since November 2024. Indian teen Kartik Singh was the best-placed Indian, finishing Tied-12th at 9-under par.

How Tanapat Sealed the Win

Tanapat entered the final round with a two-shot lead after firing a magnificent eight-under-par 64 in the third round. He ground out a composed 2-under 70 on Sunday, keeping his margin intact despite a birdie putt that stopped inches short of the cup on the 18th hole. The par proved sufficient as no challenger could overhaul him.

'I was nervous. For the past five hours, it was all up and down,' Tanapat said after his round. He had narrowly missed out on a full Asian Tour card last year, finishing 69th in the Order of Merit. His previous win came on his 25th birthday in November 2024, when he claimed the Toyota Tour Championship.

Siddikur Rahman's Dramatic Finish

Bangladesh's Siddikur Rahman, 41, produced a final-round 67 — including a crucial birdie on the 18th — to leapfrog Runchanapong Youprayong of Thailand into second place at 15-under. That closing birdie earned Rahman a coveted spot in next week's USD 500,000 IGPL Bharath Classic, an Asian Tour event at the same venue. Rahman is a two-time Asian Tour winner, having previously won the Brunei Open in 2010 and the Hero Indian Open in 2013.

Rahman, who was in Morocco with his family, said he had no expectations heading into the week: 'My family is with me, so I really enjoyed my work without any expectation. I thought I would not get into the next two tournaments because I was so down on the waiting list.'

Runchanapong finished third at 14-under with a 70, while American Henry Chung carded a 67 for solo fourth at 13-under. Hong Kong's Matthew Cheung (69) and Ho Ho Yue (70) rounded out the top six.

Kartik Singh: Top Indian Despite Back-Nine Stumble

Teen golfer Kartik Singh was the standout Indian performer, completing all four rounds under par with scores of 71-66-71-71 for a 9-under total. He appeared on course for a top-5 finish after three birdies in his first 10 holes, but a double bogey on the Par-3 13th and a bogey on the Par-4 16th derailed his charge. He closed with a birdie on the 18th to salvage Tied-12th.

'I'm happy with my performance this week. The course was playing tough with strong winds and tricky greens, so I'm happy to have shot under par in all 4 rounds, especially my second round, 6-under, which put me in the top 5 heading into the weekend,' Kartik said. He added: 'Being the top Indian was a nice bonus in a strong Indian contingent in this tournament... I'm hoping that next time I'll be able to come out on top overall.'

Other Indian Results

Trishul Chinnappa (69-61-72-71) and Kartik Sharma (74-69-75-65), both IGPL players, shared Tied-28th at 5-under after contrasting weeks. Raghav Chugh (69-70-72-74) struggled on the final day — three bogeys against one birdie — and dropped to Tied-35th, alongside Syed Saqib Ahmed (76), who faltered after three solid opening rounds of 69-70-70.

Rashid Khan (71) finished T-40, Milind Soni (72) was T-42, Arjun Bhati (76) and Sachin Baisoya (74) were T-46, and Samarth Dwivedi (77) ended at T-49.

What Comes Next at Mazagan

The Mazagan Beach & Golf Resort on Morocco's Atlantic coast will host back-to-back tournaments: next week's USD 500,000 IGPL Bharath Classic on the Asian Tour, followed by the USD 2 million International Series Morocco. Tanapat, who now knows the course well, is eyeing a repeat. 'Excited, very excited indeed. It's on the same course, and I feel I know it inside out. I will just try to play the same golf as I did this week, and hopefully, the result is the same again,' he said.
