He sits tied for fifth at 7-under for 36 holes, five shots adrift of Spain's Agusti Madalena, who has surged to the top of the leaderboard at 12-under after posting the tournament's lowest round so far.

Madalena's Flawless Round

Spain's Agusti Madalena, 25, capitalised on gentle morning conditions at the Mazagan Beach & Golf Resort to fire a bogey-free 8-birdie 64 in the second round. He narrowly missed what could have been an even lower score, failing to convert a six-foot eagle putt on the 18th hole. Combined with his opening 68, Madalena stands at 12-under par, holding a four-shot lead heading into the weekend.

Despite going five years as a professional without a top-10 finish in Official World Golf Ranking events, Madalena's performance this week could mark a significant turning point. 'That was really good, I think the best golf I have ever played. No mistakes, just a perfect round,' he said. 'I like the golf course. I think my playing style has adapted to this course layout very well.'

He added: 'I will try to play the same over the weekend, but maybe, I will not be able to score this well. But I'm feeling good on the golf course, so I am hoping I can keep playing like this.'

Kartik Singh's Bogey-Free Charge

Kartik Singh, who impressed on the 2025 IGPL Tour, began his second round from the 10th hole. He opened with a birdie, then added back-to-back gains on holes 14 and 15, and another on the 18th. Turning for his second nine, birdies on the 5th and 6th holes rounded off a clean 66. After a 1-under opening round, Kartik is now at 7-under for the tournament, tied for fifth with Thai duo Tanapat Pichaikool (70-67) and Runchanapong Youprayong (67-70).
