Kolkata, July 1 (NationPress) The Bengal Warriorz have kicked off their preparations for what promises to be an exhilarating season of the Pro Kabaddi League. In Season 12 of the PKL, the Bengal Warriorz, who claimed the championship title in Season 7, are set to unveil new talent, featuring fresh faces and a revitalized determination in their pursuit of victory.

With the recent PKL Player Auction, the Bengal Warriorz have made headlines by acquiring the highly skilled raider Devank Dalal. This young raider, purchased for Rs 2.205 crore, was the most expensive Indian player at the auction, but he remains unfazed.

“I am thrilled that the Bengal Warriorz & Capri Sports have shown such immense confidence in me during the auction. It feels great to have received the highest bid among Indian players in the PKL auction,” he expressed.

Devank noted that this season marks a new chapter for the Bengal Warriorz. “As a new team, this season is a fresh beginning. The Bengal Warriorz will strive for a successful season,” he remarked.

Last season was a breakthrough for the dynamic Devank Dalal, who dazzled audiences with his rapid and agile raiding, finishing with 301 points, including 18 Super 10s, making him the standout raider of the season. Earlier, he was honored as the 'Best Player' in the 71st Senior National Men's Kabaddi Championship. Looking ahead to PKL Season 12, Devank insists there is no pressure.

“Last year, I was uncertain about how the season would unfold. But it turned out well. Now, I know I will play for sure, and while there is a responsibility on my shoulders, I am confident in my abilities. I don’t perceive this as pressure; instead, I view it as my duty to my team, the Bengal Warriorz fans, and I relish fulfilling my responsibilities,” he stated.

When discussing team bonding in the pre-season since the auction, Devank mentioned, “Our team is a healthy blend of youth and experience. We are in constant communication with each other, including players, coaches, and management. It's been quite enjoyable, which is beneficial for the team.”

This moment is monumental for Devank. There was a time when a head injury nearly ended his career. However, this Army man, who led his team to the PKL finals last season, feels fortunate for the positive turn of events in his life.

“I am grateful for my current position and feel fantastic. In Kabaddi, there will be challenges, but I never considered quitting. I always believed in facing challenges, training hard, and not succumbing to pressure during tough times. With God’s blessings, I continued my rigorous practice, and I am glad it paid off,” the raider shared.
