Noida, Jan 20 (NationPress) The Tiigers of Mumbai Dangals are currently enjoying a slim 3–2 lead over the Punjab Royals at the midpoint of their Pro Wrestling League (PWL) 2026 matchup, taking place at the Noida Indoor Stadium on Tuesday.

Entering the competition seeking their inaugural victory of the season, the Tiigers showcased remarkable skill throughout the first five bouts, while the Punjab Royals fought back fiercely, creating a tightly contested atmosphere for the latter half of this nine-bout encounter.

The Tiigers initiated the scoring in spectacular fashion as Mukul Dahiya dominated the 86kg men's bout, overwhelming Georgia's Tariel Gaphrindashvili with relentless offensive maneuvers. Dahiya accumulated points through takedowns, turns, and a high-value throw, ultimately winning by technical superiority to secure the early lead for Tiigers.

Punjab quickly retaliated in the 62kg women's bout, where Commonwealth silver medallist Ana Godinez displayed her prowess against Sarika Malik. Godinez executed a series of takedowns and exposure sequences before concluding the match with a fall, bringing the score to 1–1.

The momentum shifted back to the Tiigers in the 65kg men's contest, highlighted by Rohit Rahal's impressive comeback. After facing an early setback, Rahal turned the match around with multiple takedowns in both periods, eventually transitioning into a fall to defeat Paris Olympic medallist Islam Guseinov.

The Tiigers solidified their lead in the 57kg men's bout, as team captain and Paris Olympic bronze medallist Aman Sehrawat delivered an outstanding performance against Chirag Chhikara, winning 17–7 through consistent takedowns and push-outs in the second period.

The Punjab Royals remained competitive thanks to Priya Malik in the 76kg women's category. Malik executed a disciplined strategy, maintaining pressure on Jyoti Berwal before decisively taking control in the second period and finishing with a commanding 10–0 victory.
