Toni Kroos and Lucy Bronze Named in Prestigious FIFPRO World 11

New Delhi, Dec 9 (NationPress) The FIFPRO Men’s World 11 and FIFPRO Women’s World 11 have been announced, after more than 28,000 professional players across 70 countries cast their votes to determine the team of the year from 26 players who garnered the most votes for their outstanding performances between August 21, 2023, and July 14, 2024.

In the 2024 Men’s World 11, six players from Real Madrid, including the recently retired Toni Kroos, alongside four stars from Manchester City, have been selected, with Dani Carvajal, Antonio Rudiger, Ederson, and Rodri making their debuts. Virgil van Dijk of Liverpool is the only player outside of Real Madrid or City to earn a spot in this year’s men’s team of the year, marking his fourth World 11 appearance.

The Women’s World 11 features Lucy Bronze, Mary Earps, Alex Greenwood, Lauren James, and Keira Walsh, all selected by their professional peers. Bronze’s recognition brings her total to 7 appearances, tying her with France’s Wendie Renard for the current record.

Brazilian legend Marta returns to the team of the year for the first time since 2021, while Barbra Banda makes history as the first African player to be included in the Women’s World 11.

For the first time since 2006, Lionel Messi has not been named in the World 11, despite holding the all-time record with 17 appearances.
