26 Finalists Announced for the 2024 FIFPRO Men’s World XI

New Delhi, Dec 2 (NationPress) The anticipation for the 2024 FIFPRO Men’s World 11 has intensified with the announcement of the 26 finalists, set to be disclosed on Monday (December 9). The World 11 stands out as the only global football accolade determined exclusively by professional athletes, with more than 21,000 men’s footballers from 70 countries participating in the voting process for their team of the year.

The finalists for the FIFPRO Men’s World 11 comprise the 26 male footballers who garnered the highest votes from their fellow players based on their performances from August 21, 2023 to July 14, 2024. To qualify, players must have participated in at least 30 official matches during this timeframe.

In a surprising twist, both Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have made it to the shortlist of 26 players. Furthermore, Real Madrid and Manchester City dominate the list, each contributing eight players, including Kylian Mbappe and Cole Palmer, who represented different clubs during the specified period.

The selection will include one goalkeeper, three defenders, three midfielders, and three forwards who received the highest votes. The final position in the World 11 will go to the outfield player with the next highest vote count. Ultimately, the 11 players who received the most votes for their respective positions will comprise the World 11.
