New Delhi, Feb 6 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi spearheaded the nation's political and sports leadership in offering heartfelt congratulations to the India U19 team after they secured their remarkable sixth title by defeating England by 100 runs in Harare.

"India’s cricketing talent shines brightly. I am immensely proud of our U-19 team for bringing home the World Cup. The players have exhibited exceptional skill throughout the tournament. This victory is bound to inspire numerous young athletes as well. Wishing the team all the best in their future endeavors," Modi shared on X.

After opting to bat first, India faced an early setback with Aaron George dismissed for just 9 runs. Nevertheless, Sooryavanshi and Ayush Mhatre formed a solid partnership with a combined score of 142 runs, where Mhatre contributed 53 off 51 balls. Sooryavanshi then took over, scoring an impressive 175 runs off just 80 balls, including 15 fours and 15 sixes. He achieved his century in just 55 balls and reached 150 in 71. Late support from Kanishk Chouhan, who made 37 off 20 balls, propelled India to a total of 411/9.
