Kampala (Uganda), April 14 (NationPress) — The Uganda Athletics Federation has officially announced its squad for the upcoming 2026 World Athletics Relays, which will be hosted in Gaborone, Botswana. President Dominic Otuchet shared with Xinhua on Tuesday that a total of four athletes will represent Uganda at this prestigious event.
The relays are scheduled to occur at the Botswana National Stadium on May 2-3, marking the eighth iteration of the World Athletics Relays and the first time the competition is being held on African territory. Otuchet noted, "We received clearance from the global athletics body based on our ranking. Unfortunately, we are only able to send four runners without any reserves due to financial constraints."
