New Delhi, Dec 18 (NationPress) In light of the cancellation of the fourth T20I match between India and South Africa due to severe fog and inadequate visibility, Prem Manohar Gupta, the Secretary of the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA), announced that the complete ticket refund initiative will begin on Friday.
Gupta affirmed that the governing body is making arrangements to facilitate a seamless reimbursement process for fans who had bought tickets for the game, whether through offline or online channels.
“The ticket refund procedure will kick off tomorrow morning. Those who bought tickets online will receive their refunds via the same method. Only the service charges will be retained. The remainder of the amount will be returned,” stated Gupta.
“For those who acquired tickets offline, we will establish booths at the Ekana Stadium to process refunds. The refund procedure will commence from there, and advertisements will be published in newspapers to inform everyone. All attendees will receive their full refunds,” Gupta told IANS on Thursday.
Despite repeated assessments by on-field umpires K.N. Ananthapadmanabhan and Rohan Pandit, along with reserve umpire J.R. Madanagopal, the match was ultimately called off at 9:30 PM at the BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium.
“We deeply regret that the match could not proceed. All preparations had been finalized for the event. We appreciate all our fans who traveled from afar with the hope of witnessing the match. They dedicated their time, but it was not meant to be. We sincerely apologize for this,” Gupta added.
India, under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav, currently leads the five-match series against South Africa with a score of 2-1. The concluding match of the series is scheduled to be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday.
