Valencia CF Names Corberan as New Head Coach Following Baraja's Dismissal

Valencia, Dec 25 (NationPress) Carlos Corberan has been appointed as the new coach of Valencia CF, with a contract extending until 2027, as confirmed by the La Liga club on Wednesday.
Corberan arrives at Valencia CF after a significant tenure in England, where he has built the majority of his coaching resume. He spent two years at the helm of Huddersfield Town. His departure from West Bromwich Albion was facilitated by the activation of his buyout clause in his contract.
He succeeds Ruben Baraja, who was relieved of his duties last Monday. At the time of his dismissal, Valencia was positioned second from the bottom of the league table, accumulating just 12 points with only two wins out of 17 league matches.
Corberan began his journey as a professional head coach in 2016 at Doxa Katopias in Cyprus, before shortly moving on to Ermis Aradippou.
In 2022, he took the reins at Olympiakos FC in the Greek Super League. After a brief stint, he made his return to England with West Bromwich Albion, leading the team to the promotion playoffs for the Premier League last season.
Originally from Cheste, Corberan embarked on his coaching career at the age of 23, progressing through the ranks at Villarreal CF. His rich experience includes a significant period working as an assistant to Marcelo Bielsa at Leeds United.
