New Delhi, Oct 16 (NationPress) The world's elite boxers are set to compete for supremacy at the World Boxing Cup Finals 2025, taking place at the Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex in Greater Noida from November 14 to 21.
In a historic first for India, this week-long event will showcase top-tier boxers, including the winners from the 2025 stages, who will vie for the prestigious World Boxing Cup trophy. The competition will feature male and female athletes across ten weight categories in an Olympic-style boxing format.
Building on the momentum from last year's inaugural 2024 edition—held in England, the USA, and Mongolia, culminating in England—India approaches this year's finals ranked among the top five in global medal standings, boasting 17 medals including four golds, six silvers, and seven bronzes.
Ajay Singh, President of the Boxing Federation of India, remarked, “Hosting the World Boxing Cup Finals signifies the progress Indian boxing has made, not just in performance but also in our capability to host world-class events. With India gearing up for the Commonwealth Games in 2030 and aspiring to host the Olympics in 2036, this is a crucial milestone.”
“In recent years, we have established systems that consistently produce international medalists, and this tournament is an opportunity to exhibit that success on our home turf. It’s a pivotal moment for our boxers and our nation.”
