Yuvraj, Duminy, Tharanga to Play in First International Masters League

Mumbai, Feb 1 (NationPress) Yuvraj Singh, regarded as one of the finest left-handed batsmen in cricket history, will don the colors of India Masters during the inaugural season of the International Masters League (IML), set to take place from February 22 to March 16.

Yuvraj, a name that resonates with triumph and pivotal moments, played a vital role in India’s victorious campaign at the first ICC T20 World Cup in 2007, where he famously hit six sixes in an over against Stuart Broad. His contributions were instrumental in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, earning him the title of Player of the Tournament for his remarkable all-round display.

Reflecting on his return to the game as part of the India Masters squad, Yuvraj Singh expressed, "Stepping onto the field with Sachin and my fellow teammates feels like a revival of our glorious past. Joining him in this star-studded league are JP Duminy from South Africa and Upul Tharanga from Sri Lanka, each representing their respective nations.

JP Duminy was celebrated for his elegant stroke production, calmness under duress, and effective off-spin bowling. With a record of over 9,000 international runs and experience as South Africa’s T20 captain, Duminy consistently served as a key stabilizer during critical situations.

Commenting on his selection for the Sri Lanka Masters team, Tharanga remarked, “I am excited to represent Sri Lanka Masters in the inaugural season of the International Masters League.
