The Asian Fisheries and Aquaculture Forum (AFAF) is a triennial event organized by the Asian Fisheries Society, headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This three-day event, the 14th AFAF, is being jointly organized by the Asian Fisheries Society, Kuala Lumpur, the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), the Department of Fisheries, and the Asian Fisheries Society Indian Branch (AFSIB), Mangalore. This significant forum is hosted in India for the second time, following the 8th AFAF in Kochi back in 2007.

Hosting the 14th AFAF in India after 18 years underscores the nation’s growing stature in the global fisheries and aquaculture sector. With a rapidly evolving blue economy, forward-thinking government strategies, and major scientific breakthroughs, India has emerged as a pivotal force in sustainable fisheries and aquaculture.

Currently, India ranks second in the world for total fish production and aquaculture output. The forum aims to showcase India’s contributions, bolster international collaborations, and advocate for innovative methods promoting sustainable, resilient, and economically viable fish production systems.

The AFAF has a rich history of enhancing global cooperation within the industry, having been successfully held in various Asian countries since its inception.

The forum will be inaugurated by Rajiv Ranjan Singh, Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, at the Bharat Ratna C. Subramaniam Auditorium, ICAR Convention Centre, Pusa Campus, New Delhi.

The event will feature over 20 Lead Presentations by esteemed experts from India and abroad.
