Bhopal, July 4 (NationPress) Chief Minister Mohan Yadav presented laptops to 15 outstanding Class 12 students from government schools throughout Madhya Pradesh during a ceremony at the Kushabhau Thakre Convention Centre on Friday. These students achieved the highest scores in the state for the academic year 2024-25 across various streams, such as Science, Commerce, Arts, and Mathematics.
Among them, Prayal Dwivedi, who scored 492 out of 500 in the Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) examinations, was the first to be honored with a laptop by the Chief Minister. Uday Pratap Singh, the School Education Minister, joined him during the event.
The other distinguished students who received laptops include Harsh Pandey (490), Ankur Yadav (490), Abhay Singh (489), Aryan Pandey (488), Heena Kumari (488), Hariom Shahu (486), Raghuveer Gautam (484), Gargi Agrawal (484), Divyanshu Tiwari (484), Deepika Singh (483), Parth Rathore (483), Nishra Pandit (487), Panjal Kushwaha (487), and Yogita Tank (478).
A total of 94,234 meritorious students across the state are eligible for benefits under the Pratibhashali Vidyarthi Protsahan Yojana of the Madhya Pradesh government. While the top 15 students received laptops, the remaining beneficiaries will be credited with Rs 25,000 directly to their bank accounts.
This initiative, designed to empower students who have scored 75 percent or higher in the Class 12 MPBSE examinations, has a total financial outlay of Rs 238.98 crore for this year. The direct benefit transfer model guarantees transparency and gives students the flexibility to select digital devices that suit their academic needs.
Initiated in 2009-10, the scheme has benefited over 4.3 lakh students, with total disbursements exceeding Rs 1,080 crore. Last year alone, 89,710 students benefited financially through the program.
The 2025 edition signifies a substantial increase in both coverage and budget. Officials state that the scheme encompasses students from both regular and self-study modes, applicable to those enrolled in government and recognized private schools. The minimum eligibility for general category students is 75 percent, while students from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes qualify with a minimum of 65 percent marks.
